Club Manager’s Meet To Discuss Deal For £70,000-a-wk Star ( Not Elneny )

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push this season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best to achieve his target.

Aston Villa boss Remi Garde has revealed he had talks with his Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger over the transfer of Matthieu Debuchy.

The Villa boss is determined to bring in new faces this month as he hopes to get his side out of the relegation zone and has earmarked Debuchy as a potential January target.

It was revealed at the end of December that both clubs held preliminary discussions over the services of the striker and Aston Villa boss has now confirmed his interest in signing the 30-year-old defender.

Speaking with the media on Thursday, Garde said: “I had a conversation with Arsene a few days ago about some of the players and Mathieu Debuchy was among these players.

“It’s too early and it won’t help me or anyone to go forward in this style to make too many more comments.”

However, Wenger is reportedly open to the idea of letting the defender leave. Debuchy is keen on playing regular football as he hopes to be part of the French national team that will host the Euro 2016 championship this summer and he knows he is only going to the get that opportunity outside the Emirates.

Debuchy has only featured 20 times for Arsenal and will be hoping the club sanction his move this month in order to get more playing time
