Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push this season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best to achieve his target.
Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores is not bothered by the Gunners link to his skipper in this transfer window as he is very confident that Deeney would remain at Vicarage Road after the January transfer window.
Deeney has been linked with a move to the Emirates since the opening of the January transfer window due to his form for Watford this season; he has scored six goals in the league and he has struck a very good understanding with fellow striker Odion Jude Ighalo; the pair have scored over 20 goals across all competition for the newly promoted side this season and their form has captured the attention of clubs around.
The Gunners are in need of an alternate striker to support Olivier Giroud upfront with Danny Welbeck still out injured and Theo Walcott yet to hit his best form. Deeney is seen as an ideal fit for the Gunners as he already familiar with life at the English top flight and would thrive more with services coming from Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Santi Carzola.
Deeney would be a good addition to the Gunners squad and to their ambition of lifting the Premier League title for the first time since 2004. Gunners are indeed willing to do business with Watford but Quique Flores doesn’t want to lose any of his prized assets in the middle of the league season.
