Arsenal are preparing to surpass their club record transfer fee paid for German super star; Mesut Ozil from Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to reports.
The Gunners are reportedly ready to meet the £60 Million evaluation that the Bundesliga side have placed on the Gabonese striker.
According to the Metro, the Gunners have made a bid of £42 Million for the striker which the Dortmund management turned down and now Arsenal are set to pay a fee higher than the £42.5 Million they spent to get Ozil from Real Madrid in 2013.
But the same source has reported further that Borussia Dortmund would consider a deal if the Gunners could come up with a bid of £60 Million.
The Gunners have been strongly linked to the Gabonese attacker after his blistering start to the season for Borrusia Dortmund as Arsenal boss is said to be a huge fan of the striker.
Aubameyang is one of the most lethal strikers in Europe this season, scoring 27 goals in 27 appearances already this term and this is just half way in the season.
The Gunners need another alternative striker upfront to help ease the goal burden on the shoulder of Olivier Giroud who happens to be the only main striker that the Gunners currently parade in their squad, although Theo Walcott is being used as a striker sometimes while Danny Welbeck has been side-lined with injury for most of the season so far.
