Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
Arsenal’s search for another striker to support Olivier Giroud could well be over as reports indicated that French Giants; Paris St. Germain are being put into a dilemma by Edinson Cavani, who asked PSG to choose between him or Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the central striker’s role.
Cavani joined the French Champions in 2013 from Italian side SS Napoli and has gone on to score 69 goals in 120 appearances for PSG despite not operating as the main striker but from the flanks.
Initial report claims he wants a move away from the French capital in the summer and it is understood that Manchester United wants to bring him to the theatre of Dreams while there are also rumours of interests from Anfield.
Arsenal have been on Cavani’s trail for a while now and in this second phase of the League where matches come in thick; an alternate striker to ease the pressure off Giroud would be a welcome addition but it seems like interested parties would have to wait till the summer to secure his services.
Cavani is built for the premiership; good physical awareness, very good in dealing with aerial balls. He would be good for the Gunners all though he is similar to Olivier Giroud’s in playing style and abilities.
