Chelsea’s prospective coach, Jorge Sampaoli has told the Blues owner Roman Abramovich that he will only join Chelsea if they seal the transfer of Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, states.
Sampaoli led Chile to Copa America glory on home soil in 2015, ending a wait of 99 years to lift a major trophy for the Chileans and Alexis Sanchez was instrumental in helping him achieve the feat as he converted the decisive spot kick after the game against Argentina ended 0-0 in regulation time.
Sampaoli is been lined up by the Blues as replacement for interim coach; Guus Hiddink at the end of the season but if he is to accept the coaching role at Stamford Bridge; then Roman Abramovich would have to sign the Chilean from Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Arsenal value Alexis at £50 Million but would avoid the temptation of strengthening a Premier league rival, if they could hold on to him; the Gunners would be delighted as he is seen as a valuable member of the Arsenal squad.
Abramovich has the financial capabilities to fund the deal if the Gunners are willing to sell him in the January transfer window.
