Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
Arsenal are lining up a move to secure the services of Walsall’s Rico Henry, according to reports.
The Gunners are not the only clubs interested in the youngster with Manchester United , Tottenham, Leicester City and Watford all said to be tracking Henry.
Arsenal has Spanish international, Nacho Monreal as the first choice left back this days with Kieran Gibbs resigned to a place on the bench.
Monreal is rumoured to be close to signing a new contract amidst reports of interest from Atletico Bilbao in Spain.; he would be 30 year by February while Kieran Gibbs is just 26 year and it is certain that he would take over from Monreal when he retires or move away from the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger sees Henry Rico, 18, the long term left back at the Emirates but would have to face tough competition from other Premier league clubs who are also scouting the youngster.
Rico was named the League one young player for the month of September and he recently signed a new 3 year deal with the midland earlier this season.
He is a youngster with great future and potential; he is being likened to former Gunners defender Ashley Cole meaning he is great defensively as well as with supporting the attack.
Wenger handed Cesc Fabregas and Jack Wilshere their debut with the Gunners at a similar age so Rico Henry may be assured of getting bit part role if he joins Arsenal although it is hard to see him displace Monreal or Gibbs anytime soon if he ends up at the Emirates.
