Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
Arsenal are ready to make a move on long time transfer target; Edinson Cavani of Paris St. Germain in this transfer window.
Cavani and PSG coach Laurent Blanc are in a disagreement about the striker’s playing position.
It was reported earlier in the week that PSG are being put into a dilemma by Edinson Cavani, who asked PSG to choose between him or Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the central striker’s role. Cavani wants to play as the main striker but he is not getting his wish as Swedish super star; Zlatan Ibrahimovic is being preferred as the main striker.
Arsenal are in need of another striker and they have been alerted about the Cavani situation with reports indicating that they are ready to place a bid for the Uruguayan striker. Olivier Giroud needs support upfront to share in the goal scoring responsibilities at the Emirates as Arsene Wenger look to win his first Premier League title since 2004.
Cavani joined the French Champions in 2013 from Italian side Napoli and has gone on to score 69 goals in 120 appearances for PSG despite not operating as the main striker but from the flanks.
