Arsenal are determined to keep goalkeeper David Ospina at the Emirates beyond the ongoing transfer window, according to Tribal football.
The Colombian international has gone increasingly frustrated at the lack of opportunities coming his way and is understandably seeking a new challenge.
The report claims that the goalkeeper has revealed his dissatisfaction to those close to him.
Ospina, 27,has not featured for the Gunners since his error filled display in September which cost the Gunners three points against Olympiakos putting the Gunners on the brink of Champions league elimination, he was however expected to be in goal in the FA cup game against Sunderland but a minor injury ruled him out .
Ospina usurped Wojciech Szczesny to claim the spot in the starting line-up having arrived last summer, but the arrival of Petr Cech has seen him relegated to the bench.
He has since been linked with several clubs with Besiktas and Everton thought to be leading the chase. But Wenger is adamant the Colombian remains and his chances would come in the future “I think he can be the goalkeeper of the future here as well,” he said.
“With Petr Cech getting older year after year, he may get more games as well. I believe that Ospina is not treated fairly. If you look at the whole of 2015, everybody neglects he played six months.
“I personally think he is world-class. I did not take Petr Cech based on the performances of Ospina. Petr Cech was just an exceptional opportunity where it was difficult to say no. It was not because I was unhappy with Ospina.
“I was very happy with Ospina. It was just an opportunity to say no would not have been right. Unfortunately, Ospina has been punished by that decision. I rate him highly.
“True he had a bad season because he has that mistake, and when you do not have many opportunities and you have one bad catch everyone is after you.”
