Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
Former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez is being wanted by Premier league clubs; Arsenal, Tottenham and most recently Liverpool have indicated their interest to bring the Mexican striker back to the Premier League.
Hernandez was tagged surplus to requirement at Old Trafford after being sent out on loan to Real Madrid in Van Gaal’s first season in charge before he was eventually sold to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer. Hernandez has been in fine form since moving to the Bundesliga as he is showing his quality week in week out for Leverkusen.
The Reds are looking for replacement for Daniel Sturridge as his persistent injury seem to have dented Liverpool’s hope of making it to the top four this season.
Liverpool’s other striker, Mario Ballotelli; who is out on loan to Italian side AC Milan doesn’t seem like he has a future with the Reds.
Spurs are also looking to sign a back -up striker for Harry Kane who is the only striker in the Spurs rank after Roberto Soldado returned to Spanish League with Villarreal in the summer.
The White hart Lane based club have been tracking West Brom’s Saido Berahino since last summer but have not been lucky despite the striker handing in a transfer request.
Now they have turned their attention to Hernandez but face competition for the Mexican’s signature.
