Almost Done: Arsenal To FINALLY Complete Deal For £100k-a-wk Star, Star Wants To Complete Move Soon

Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.

Italian side AS Roma are planning to secure a loan extension for Arsenal goal keeper whose loan deal is supposed to expire at the end of this current season. The Polish goalkeeper has been in good form since his move to Roma in the summer.

Szczesny has dropped down the pecking order at the Emirates after initially wrestling the first choice spot from Manuel Almunia and also kept out Lukas Fabianski from the first team with the latter leaving the Emirates to join Swansea City.

But with the signing of David Ospina from French side Nice in 2014 after the goal Keeper had an impressive outing at the FIFA World cup for his country Colombia and was subsequently snapped up to provide competition for the fumbling Wojciech Szczesny; and he duly obliged by claiming the first spot position in the Gunners goal.

The summer arrival of Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech means the Polish international had to go out on loan to keep himself fit and prepared for life back the Emirates in the summer.  But according to Metro, AS Roma are planning to keep the 25 year old at the Stadio Olympico for a further season due to Petr Cech’s form; but the Gunners would need the Polish goalkeeper back at the Emirates in the summer should Ospina get his wish about leaving in the January transfer.
