Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
Arsenal’s chances of signing Victor Wanyama are significantly increasing, with reports saying that Southampton are set to allow the Kenyan move if he doesn’t sign a deal by summer.
Wanyama has been a long term target for the gunners, and would be out of contract by the end of next season, and the saints would not want to lose him on a free.
There are interests from Arsenal and Tottenham, and it is thought that Southampton would allow interested parties to hold talks with him if contract talks still stalls.
The Gunners recently snapped up Basel’s Egyptian midfielder to cover for the injured Francis Coquelin, but Wanyama still remains their first choice and they will try to bring him in as soon as they can.
Arsenal are set to be short in the midfield by summer, with the Likes of Arteta, Flamini and Rosciky all set to leave at the end of their contracts, and as such would be needing to add more numbers to their injury prone midfield.
