Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push this season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best to achieve his target.
Arsenal are reportedly set to enter the race for Manchester United transfer target Goncalo Guedes from Benfica in Portugal.
The Gunners are tracking the talented youngster with the help of their former player, Luis Boa Morte, who is now a coach at Portuguese outfits Sporting Lisbon.
According to Noticias as Minuto via Metro, Boa Morte watches players based in Portugal who interest the Gunners. Boa Morte watched Guedes being dragged off at half time in Benfica’s win over Oriental Lisboa.
The 19 year old became a regular for the Portuguese giants this season and has greatly impressed from the midfield position and has won a call up to the Portuguese national side. He also helped Benfica qualify to the knockout stage of this season UEFA Champions League where they will meet with Russian Outfit Zenith Saint Petersburg in the knockout stage. Guedes is tagged the ‘’NEW RONALDO’’ in Portugal and he is seen as a star for the future.
Guedes is contracted to Benfica till 2021 and has a buy-out clause of £40M which is what would likely put off interest for the 19 year old who still has a lot to prove before he could command such huge transfer fee.
