Wenger himself confirmed he would sign only “top players” in winter, and this has seen the club linked to an avalanche of star players in recent weeks.
Arsenal has been told that they would have to come up with the full release clause in Spanish forward’s contract if they are to stand a chance of completing his transfer. Arsenal have retained a long interest in Celta Vigo’s talisman Nolito for a while now with Spanish giants Barcelona and a release clause standing between them and a deal.
According to THE EXPRESS Celta Vigo’s club director of football, Miguel Torrecilla, announced last night the Galician club will not let go of their man without a fight which is why any team that wants to sign the forward must stump up with the release clause which is around £12.6 Million.
The Gunners need another forward player to compliment Olivier Giroud who happens to be the only striker in the Gunner’s rank fully fit as Danny Welbeck is still weeks away from first team action. Nolito is a former Barcelona player, representing the Barcelona B team from 2008-2011 under current Barcelona head coach and has also played under Luis Enrique while he was the coach at Celta Vigo.
A reunion with the Barcelona coach would be appealing to Nolito who has stated that he fancies a move back to Barcelona than to England that is according to EXPRESS. But Barcelona are still not convinved about paying the full release clause for the 29 year old which leaves Arsenal with a fighting chance of securing the Spaniard.
