Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push this season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best to achieve his target.
Arsenal might have been dealt a big blow as on loan defender, Carl Jenkinson is said to be injured and could be ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.
Jenkinson joined the Hammers on a two year loan deal last season and he is expected to return to the Emirates at the end of this season to try to displace current Gunners first choice at the right back position, Hector Bellerin; who has kept out Mathieu Debuchy and he is not looking like relinquishing that position any time soon.
According to Offthepost, the on loan Arsenal defender limped off in the first half of last weekend’s draw with Manchester City after injuring his knee in the course of conceding a penalty to Sergio Aguero and was replaced by new signing Sam Byram, who now looks set fr a lot of playing time between now and the end of the season.
The extent of the injury is not certain yet as the official website of the hammers WHUFC.COM stated that it Jenkinson suffered a significant injury and he will be assessed by a specialist in central London on Wednesday and a further update will be provided when the full extent of the injury has been confirmed.
