Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Teenage prodigy Goncalo Guedes has expectedly attracted a lot attention since his stunning displays in the group stage of the Champions League where he helped Benifica secure a spot in the next round. The 19-year-old is currently one of the hottest prospects in European football and has understandably attracted interest all over Europe amongst those seems to be our very own Arsenal.
According to Noticias as Minuto via the Metro, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger sent former player Luis Boa Morte to cast an eye on Guedes . The player would have to be reassessed by the Gunners another time after being dragged off at half-time in Benfica’s win over Oriental Lisboa.
Guedes may only be a teenager but he has already made his international debut for Portugal in a 1-0 defeat to Russia in November and is tipped to represent his country at the upcoming European championship . The youngster has also shattered the record of being the youngest Portuguese goalscorer in the Champions League little wonder he has been dubbed the next Cristiano Ronaldo.
The player fits perfectly into the Wenger sort of signing…… Young, hardworking and has got loads of potential. The downside to this however comes in the fact that the player who has been on the books of Benifica since he was eight recently signed a new deal this season which includes a whopping £45million buy-out clause. Much more than enough to put off our ever prudent Arsene Wenger.
