Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a major title push this season and the boss is aware of the need to bring in only the best to achieve his target.
Arsenal have been boosted in the race to sign Borussia Mochengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka after the midfielder revealed he is desperate to play in the premier league, according to the Daily Star.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Emirates and it has been reported that the Gunners are preparing a summer bid worth £37m to sign the Swiss international.
Wenger who is expected to allow some of his first team members like Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky leave the club next summer is keen to bring in Xhaka to fortify is midfield.
The Gunners will be boosted by the player’s recent declaration that he wants to play in the premier league.
“I have a childhood dream, and that is the Premier League,” Xhaka told torfabrik.de.
“No matter if I play a second or 100 matches in England, I would one day love to fulfil that childhood dream.”
The midfielder has drawn comparison’s with Germany legend and Manchester United star Bastian Schweinstiger due to his superb performances in the Bundesliga.
Liverpool are reportedly interested in the midfielder and could rival Arsenal in the race to sign the 23 year old while Chelsea are also keeping tabs on the central midfielder.
