SHOCKING: Guardiola Wants Another Arsenal Star – Not Alexis

Following the confirmation that Pep Guardiola is to mange rivals Manchester City from the start of next season, expectations were high that a raft of changes were set to take place at the Etihad.

On the transfer front, various reports had claimed a warchest of £150million was to be handed to him to make changes to his playing staff to sooth his philosophy.

The bad news for the Gunners is that midfielder Aaron Ramsey is reported to be his midfield priority following comments by Yaya Toure’s agent that the midfielder is set to depart the Etihad when Guardiola takes over in July.

The Ivorian was sold by the Spanish coach during his spell at Barcelona. A midfielder who could seamlessly slot into the first team is believed to very high on Spaniard’s wishlist.

Ramsey’s hardwork and ability to keep possession – traits well favoured by Guardiola – is believed to have got his attention, little wonder he has also been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent times .

Football Insider reports that a City recruitment source has informed them that Guardiola is a big admirer of Ramsey, who has returned to his best form since being played in his favourite central midfield role.

Wenger is expected to reject all offers for the 25-year-old but could face a battle to keep the Welshman. Ramsey has previously revelaed his discontent playing out of position, should Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla both be fully fit, there is bound to be more frustrations for the Welshman with another spell out wide.

Midfield trio of Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Thomas Rosicky are all set to leave at the end of the season when their contracts run out. Wenger cannot afford another midfield departure and especially not to a rival.
