Arsene Wenger search for a top striker to compete with Olivier Giroud has taken another twist as the Gunners line up move for Liverpool striker, Daniel Sturridge.
The Gunner’s have been criticized by fans for their failure to sign a top striker in the last winter transfer window and Wenger could be close to granting the wish of the fans as Daily mail reports that the North London club lead the race to sign the English striker.
Various report claims the Gunner’s have earmarked getting a top striker next season top of their summer transfer plans and sturridge has now joined a host of elite footballers being linked with a move to the Emirates.
Sturridge on his own has suffered a lot of injuries in the past year and the report claims his current club Liverpool are running out of patience with the former Chelsea man.
The player is reportedly interested in leaving Merseyside after Liverpool’s boss Jurgen Klopp questioned his attitude and fitness and it is claimed that the Gunner’s lead the chase for the 26 year old.
Sturridge has been prolific since joining liverpool but his consistent injuries are a cause to worry for the club’s hierarchy, he has played 60 league games for the Reds and have scored 37 goals.
Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring the striker.
