The Gunner’s are currently in the race to win the Premier League title and the Gunner’s midfielder believe the can be successful despite relinquishing the first position which they occupied at the beginning of the year to Leicester City.
According to reports, Arsenal have opened talks with Alexis Sanchez over a new contract, according to reports.
The midfielder is one of the Gunner’s best player and has dazzled the Emirates faithful with his superb performances and he is set to be rewarded with a pay rise which will see his salary increased by £50,000 a week.
The source confirm, the Gunners have already held a meeting with the player’s representative with the aim of reaching an agreement quickly.
It is understood that talks is going to be centred around a new deal which would run until 2021 and could cost the North London club as much as £51.5million for the duration of the new contract.
The forward who currently earns about £130,000 a week reportedly wants a pay rise which would see him earn the same with Ozil who recently signed a new deal worth £180,000 a week.
Sanchez joined the Gunners for a fee of £32m from Barcelona in 2014 and has gone on to become a fan favourite at the Emirates.
The Gunner’s are reportedly interested in securing all first team players under 30 to a new year contract and Alexis Sanchez is the next in line after Ozil and Monreal recently put pen to paper on new deals.
Sanchez has scored 22 goals in 47 appearances since moving to the Emirates in 2014
