The Dutch tactician who is currently in charge of Premier League side Southampton has also been linked with the vacant managerial job at Stamford bridge with reports claiming he has asked the Blues interim boss to put in a good word for him at the Stamford bridge club which he vehemently denied.
Despite pundits like Glenn Hoddle backing him to be a success at Stamford bridge, he is now the bookies favourites to replace Wenger when the French man’s tenure ends at the Emirates.
Fresh report suggest Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is now favourite to succeed Arsene Wenger when the French man decides to leave the Emirates, according to the Daily star.
Wenger recently denied reports that he is in talks with the club over a new deal and it is understood that the Frenchman is delaying talks about extending his current contract which expires at the end of next season, as per the daily star.
The odds for Koeman to move to the Emirates is now as low as 8-1.
Koeman is currently doing a wonderful job at the St Mary’s and his side defeated the Gunner’s 4 – 0 at home and held the Gunner’s to a goalless draw in the return fixture at the Emirates a fortnight ago.
Wenger has been at the Emirates since 1996 and could leave the North London club should he not deliver a league title for the Gunner’s before his current deal expires.
