Wenger is reportedly in search for a top striker to compete with Olivier Giroud next season and the French man has now turned his attention to the Liverpool striker.
According to reports, Arsenal lead the race to sign Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge ahead of Chelsea, according to reports.
Calls from both fans and pundits have asked Arsene Wenger to sign a world class striker and according to reports, the Gunners are now the bookies favourites to sign Sturridge.
It is understood that the Gunners have earmarked getting a striker this summer and Sturridge is now high on the Gunner’s wishlist after previous reports revealed that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is Frustrated with the striker’s recurrent injuries.
Although Klopp has publicly backed the former Chelsea striker, it is believed that his current club Liverpool are running out of patience with him.
Arsenal lead the race to sign the striker with two of his former clubs Chelsea and Manchester City also credited with an interest to sign the 26 year old.
The player is reportedly interested in leaving Liverpool and would prefer to return to London where he had a four year stint with Chelsea before moving to Liverpool.
Sturridge has scored 37 league goals in 60 games for Liverpool since joining in January 2013.
London sides Tottenham and West Ham are also watching the striker.
