Arsenal trio Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Thomas Rosicky are expected to be shown the exit door this summer, according to reports.
According to the Daily Express via the Daily Mail, Arsenal are not prepared to offer the trio new contracts when their current deal expires at the end of the season.
Mikel Arteta, 33 , is reportedly keeping his options open and has been linked with a move to Manchester City in a coaching capacity when Guardiola moves to the Etihad this summer. It is thought that Arteta is excited with the prospect of being a coach and with Arsenal not prepared to offer him a new deal, the Former Everton man could just link up with his child hood friend Guardiola at the Etihad.
Flamini who was on the news this week as a result of his role in Barcelona’s second goal is expected to leave the club when his contract also expires at the end of the season. The report claims with the recent acquisition of Mohamed Elneny, Flamini doesn’t feature in Wenger’s plans for the future and despite the midfielder’s decent performances during the course of the current campaign, he would be allowed to leave the Emirates.
Rosicky whose contract also expires this summer hasn’t featured well for the Gunners of recent as a result of injuries. The midfielder returned from a long term injury in January and returned to the injury table again after less than 30minutes of his return and he is expected to be out until April.
