Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo who is currently on loan at Charlton Athletic has revealed his personal mission is to ensure that Charlton Athletic stay in the Championship at the end of the season, via

The striker who scored a hatrick on his full debut for the club last weekend to keep the club seven points from safety insists he wants to do his best to help save the club from relegation.

Although, Charlton lost the game due to a late winner from Reading, Sanogo is optimistic the club can still avoid relegation.

The midfielder who joined Arsenal from Auxerre in 2013 has also talked up the beauty of English football and how different it is from the Dutch league where he spent the first half of the season with Ajax. The striker had a bad spell at Ajax, making just three appearances before moving to Charlton and he is happy to be back playing English football.

He said:

“I’m enjoying it [my time at Charlton] and it’s my personal mission to help Charlton stay [in the Championship].

“We try, every day I work hard in training. I’m fit and hopefully I can help Charlton stay in the league.”

“I’m happy [with my performance], but not really because we didn’t win.

“That is a big problem because we were fighting for a win today, we couldn’t do it but every week we work for the win and to stay in the league.”

“English football is the best in the world – I’m enjoying it.

“When you go to games the atmosphere is unbelievable and the quality is good.”

Sanogo has made 11 Premier League appearances for Arsenal but he is yet to score a league goal for the Gunners. Here we are hoping the striker can learn a lot at Charlton and come back next season and try to claim a spot in the Gunners team.
