Former Arsenal Playmaker Paul Merson has revealed the Gunners are going to be under serious pressure in Saturday’s derby clash against Tottenham Hotspurs.
Tottenham impressive run has made them favourites in Saturday’s game; only suffered their first defeat in seven Premier League game on Wednesday to West Ham.
The Gunners have been blamed for allowing the slip up losing away to Manchester United and also Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium.
“I do think that both teams will be too scared to lose and it will be a big win if either side wins,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“At the moment Arsenal are chasing two teams down and you want to be chasing one, you do not want to be chasing two.”
Merson added: “I think it is great watching the way Spurs play at the moment and I think it is great for Arsenal as well, as it puts a lot of pressure on them, the board and everyone else as Tottenham are up there.
“If they were not up there, then it would be like it does not matter, it is Arsenal again, but this time the pressure is on and fair play to them.”
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2004.
Pochettino is looking to become the first Tottenham manager to guide the Lilywhites to title glory.
