A warning at half time from Arsene Wenger to Francis Coquelin to avoid picking up a second yellow card was not enough to keep the French man from getting a red card.

Ten man Arsenal chances of winning the English Premier League since 2003/2004 season was put in jeopardy due to Coquelin’s card.

A late second half goal from Alexis Sanchez, rescued a point for the Gunners.

Wenger added: ‘We warned him at half time because he had a yellow already. It was a mistake and he knows that but he wanted to do well,’ said the Arsenal boss.

‘We have big regrets because it looked like we were completely in control when we went down to 10 men, and that’s the regret of the day. Overall it’s difficult to take.’

In this picture it looks like Wenger is tired of Coquelin and might be forced to sideline him after an impressive performance from January signing Elneny.
