Manchester United and Arsenal are set to go head to head in the race to sign Watford’s Odion Ighalo this summer, according to reports.
The Gunners were interested in signing the Nigerian international in the last winter transfer window but Watford were not interested in letting the striker leave. However, he could leave Watford this summer as Manchester United have joined Arsenal in the race to sign the 26 year old.
According to Sunday people sport via Standard media, Manchester United will attempt to sign the striker in the winter transfer window irrespective of the manager in charge of the Old Trafford club.
Man Utd boss Louis Van Gaal is currently under pressure with Jose Mourinho reportedly lined up as a replacement already. Mourinho in particular is a fan of the Nigerian international and United who are desperate to sign a striker believes Ighalo is the right man.
