Nigeria forward Ahmed Musa has revealed that he is interested in moving to Arsenal, according to reports.
The Nigeria international is being monitored by league leaders Leicester City but the forward who currently plies his trade in Russia with CSKA Moscow has revealed he is interested in moving to Arsenal.
Speaking to Championat, via the Metro, Musa said: ‘Interest from clubs? What club? I do not care!
‘But Musa has to play, you know. I cannot sit on the bench. So I will have to go to the Premier League club that will believe in me.
‘I would be happy if I was wanted by Arsenal. I have supported the team since the age of six. Nwankwo Kanu has been my idol since childhood. It will be fantastic to play for Arsenal.’
The Gunners are currently close to completing a deal to sign Nigeria duo Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chibueze and with Alex Iwobi already in the squad, a move for Ahmed Musa will definitely increase the number of Nigeria contingent in the team.
Musa also confirmed Leicester City’s interest in signing him but insists he is happy at CSKA Moscow for now.
‘I will not hide it – Leicester actually came to our club. But I repeat that I want to finish the season with CSKA to help them to win a championship, and then think about changing team.’
Musa has scored 11 goals and created 3 for his teammates in all competition this season, helping CSKA Moscow to top of the Russian Premier league table.
