Arsenal have completed the signing of Nigeria wonderkid Kelechi Nwakali, the player himself revealed this on Wednesday, via Standard Sport.
The Gunners had been working on a deal for the midfielder in recent months but it seems the Nigeria international has now completed the necessary paper work for his transfer to Arsenal.
Nwakali impressed scouts when he turned out for Nigeria in the U17 world cup held in Chile last year and Arsenal have finally beaten the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester City to his signature.
Wenger admitted early this year that the club was working on a deal to sign the midfielder and the player has now revealed all is done as he is looking forward to join the academy when he turns 18.
“I just came back from London, I have signed a five-year contract with Arsenal,” he told the Mirror.
“So many teams were interested in me but it has been my dream at a tender age to play for Arsenal.”
Arsenal are also working on a deal for Nwakali’s U17 teammate Samuel Chukwueze.
Nwakali was the most valuable player in the U17 championship last year and it looks like we have got a player with enormous potential into our ever growing academy.
