Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is now a target of London rivals West Ham, according to reports.
Wilshere, 24, hasn’t featured for the Gunners this season as a result of the broken leg he suffered in the club’s preseason but he is still highly rated in England due to his quality and that have caused the Hammers to look into the possibility of signing the 24 year old.
Wilshere is expected to return for the Gunners early next month but according to the Daily Express, his future at the Emirates is in the doubts as to whether he can hold down a regular place in the starting xi.
According to Brentwood Gazzette via the Daily Express, West Ham are prepared to offer Wilshere the chance to kick start his career after his injury plagued career at Arsenal.
However, Wilshere is highly rated at Arsenal and Wenger in particular holds the midfielder in high regard. Wenger who is known for keeping faith in his players like he did with Diaby is not expected to sanction a sale of Wilshere this summer but that hasn’t stopped Slaven Bilic from watching Wilshere’s situation.
Wilshere broke into the Gunners first team at 16 years of age and has been a regular in Roy Hodgson’s England squad. Despite his injury plagued season, he is likely to make Hodgson’s Euro 2016 squad this summer.
Wilshere has scored 12 goals in 154 appearances for the Gunners since making his debut 8 years ago.
