Arsenal Star Mesut Ozil has dealt the club a huge blow as he told the club hierarchy he could leave the club in the summer, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish media house Don Balon via the Daily Star claims Mesut Ozil is tired of the Gunners inability to compete consistently in the title race.
The midfielder believes Wenger is the cause and has reportedly told the board that he will quit the club should Wenger remain at the club beyond the current campaign.
It is believed that the German playmaker is eyeing a move back to la liga with his preference Real Madrid. However Barcelona have also been linked with the midfielder. It is well known that Spanish papers have a way of helping the clubs push through a deal for a player and this could just be a ploy by Don Balon to lure the player back to the La Liga. However Ozil had previously revealed that he is happy at the Emirates. The midfielder revealed in December when he was questioned about a new deal from the club.
‘My contract runs until 2018, that is for another two and a half years,’ he told German magazine. Kicker.
‘There is no need to hurry. There are no talks at the moment but I can only say that I am very happy in London and that my decision to come here from Real Madrid was the right one.
‘There is not a single day, apart from when I was injured, that I have not felt great at Arsenal.’
