Arsenal are interested in signing AS Roma forward Umar Sadiq, according to reports.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of strikers across Europe and Roma’s sensation is the latest being linked with a move to the Emirates.
According to the Sun, Arsenal’s interest in the striker is very strong and Wenger recently had a £10.25m bid rejected by Roma for the player’s services.
According to the report, Roma will only sell the striker should their £11.6m valuation be met.
Fresh reports have emerged claiming Arsenal are set to offer £13m for his service a bit higher than his valuation.
Sadiq who is a Nigerian, joined Roma last summer and has impressed in the few months he has spent in Italy and Wenger is prepared to bring him to England.
Sadiq is the third Nigerian international Arsenal have been linked with in recent weeks and it seems the Gunners have recently made it a habit of scouting for the country’s young talents as the club recently completed the signing of Nigeria U17 international Kelechi Nwakali and are also working on a deal to sign Samuel Chibueze.
Sadiq has scored 16 goals in 16 games for Roma under 21 team with six of those goals coming in the Uefa youth league competition.
Arsenal are reportedly in search of a striker ahead of next season, however, Sadiq is still some way short of first team quality and should the club continue the Pursuit of the striker, he will most likely join the Gunner’s ever growing academy.
The striker has scored 2 Serie A goals in 6 appearances for Roma’s first team this season.
