Arsenal’s chances of signing Roma’s Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar are fast reducing, with Borussia Dortmund reportedly leading the race to sign him.
According to media reports, the two clubs are at a loggerhead in what is turning out to be an auction. Dortmund are reported to have offered 16million euros to be paid in two parts while Arsenal offered 15 million euros to be paid in three parts.
The 19-year-old striker joined Roma on loan from Spezia with an option to buy for 2.5 million euros at the end of the season and has greatly impressed in the youth team. He also boasts an impressive two goals in 94 minutes of first team football in the Serie A, this season.
Roma sees this as their chance of making a huge profit of the hot prospect who is seen as part of the future of Nigerian football and are set to activate the option to buy clause and immediately sell him in the summer. But it seems they are not impressed by Arsenal’s offer of three payments.
