Arsenal have contacted Real Madrid as regards signing German midfielder Toni Kroos, according to reports.
The club is reportedly preparing to overhaul of the midfield this summer and have been linked with a host of top midfielders across Europe.
According to the Mirror via the Metro, Arsenal have made an approach to Madrid to sign the midfielder despite close to completing a deal for Granit Xhaka.
Kroos contract at Madrid doesn’t run out until the summer of 2020 but the German international is reportedly considering his future at the Bernabeu and could push for an exit this summer to the Emirates.
It is believed that Kroos is not Wenger’s top priority but he has asked to kept informed about the midfielder’s situation.
Wenger has received criticism for not spending in the transfer windpw but he is determined to spend big this time.
Madrid are reportedly ready to sell one of their midfielders as they eye move for Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante who has also been linked with a move to the Emirates.
Arsenal signed Mesut Ozil from Real in 2013 and both clubs have established a good relationship and Wenger could try to take advantage of the relationship to sign Kroos.
