Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has blasted midfielder Jack Wilshere over his conduct recently and advised the midfielder he must be “more mature and wiser”.
The midfielder was recently embroiled in a police investigation over a fight outside a club in London. It was alleged that the midfielder threw a punch during the fight that occurred at about 3am on Sunday morning.
Although the 24 year old has denied those claims, it is believed that the club is disappointed and unhappy with the midfielder for being out early.
This is not the first time the midfielder is on the news over bad off the pitch incidence and Wright has urged him to make smarter decisions away from the pitch if he is going to be a world class midfielder, as per Sport Review.
“[Wilshere has to be] more mature and wiser,” Wright told ESPN.
“You just want that maturity to start to kick in because at some stage he’s got to focus on being a top footballer.
“He wants to be a great footballer and leave a legacy, rather than having people talking about his off-field activities. For Jack, at some stage that has to kick in for him. And I’m sure it will.”
The midfielder is yet to feature for the Gunners this season after suffering an ankle injury in August last year.
We will be hoping the midfielder who has apologised for his actions will take Wright’s advise and focus more on becoming a top footballer for the club.
