Arsenal have joined Leicester City in the race to sign Marseille midfielder Mario Lemina, according to reports.
Lemina is currently on loan at Juventus for the entire season. The midfielder is struggling at Turin but that hasn’t deterred interested Premier League clubs as Leicester City and now Arsenal are reportedly keen on the 22-year-old.
Leicester City’s scouting department have been receiving praises for their wonderful job in signing, N’Golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy as relatively unknown players and for a cheap transfer fee and Lemina is now next on their list.
Lemina will likely return to Marseille this summer as Juventus are expected not to activate their option to buy the player permanently. Marseille who are in financial crisis could be tempted to sell the player and according to Le10Sport via the Daily Star, Arsenal and Leicester City are one of the numerous clubs interested in the midfielder.
Napoli, Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund are also keeping tabs on the midfielder.
Lemina is a central midfielder by trade and with the likes of Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta set to leave the Emirates this summer, Lemina could just be the man to replace them.
Lemina began his career at FC Lorient before he moved to Marseille in 2013. He currently has two years left on his Marseille contract.
