Arsenal and Manchester United are set to battle for the signature of Hull City Left-back Andy Robertson, according to the Sun.

The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing a left back and have been linked with a move to sign Ben Chilwell of Leicester City and Raphael Guerreiro of Lorient. But Wenger has now added Andy Robertson to his list of potential targets.

Wenger is reportedly looking for a replacement for Kieran Gibbs who could leave the Emirates this summer in search of regular football. Gibbs is finding it difficult to break into the Gunners first team after losing his place to Nacho Monreal.

Gibbs was touted to be the future of the club at left back but the superb form of Monreal has forced him to just three Premier League start this season. This has forced the English defender to consider his situation at the Emirates and he has made Arsene Wenger aware of his decision to leave the club if he isn’t going to be playing regularly.

It is believed that Wenger is prepared to let the defender move on should he be able to sign a replacement this summer.

Arsene Wenger has been monitoring Robertson since he impressed with Hull City in the Premier League last season and another impressive season at the Championship has forced Wenger to consider signing the 22-year-old this summer to replace Gibbs.

The defender is valued at about £15m, a fee which isn’t too much for a defender in the modern transfer window.

Manchester United are also interested in signing a Left Back and Van Gaal has identified Robertson as a potential target should he remain at Old Trafford this summer.
