Arsene Wenger is preparing for a major squad overhaul this summer. The French tactician wants to improve the squad and is willing to take drastic actions this summer.

According to the Daily Mail via the Star, there will be a massive exodus at the Emirates this summer with as many as six British players set to leave the club.

According to the report, Wenger is prepared to listen to offers for Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey, Calum Chambers, Carl Jenkinson and Kieran Gibbs.

It is believed that Wenger wants to change the core of British players at the club and wants to replace the current ones with British players under the age of 23.

Walcott and Chamberlain have been linked with a move away from the club since January. It is believed that West Ham are seriously interested in signing Walcott while as many as five Premier League teams are interested in Chamberlain. Southampton are said to be leading the race to sign Chamberlain and Pep Guardiola is also interested in luring him to the Etihad stadium.

Leicester City youngster Ben Chilwell is seen as a perfect replacement for Kieran Gibbs who reportedly wants out of the Emirates to get regular first team football.

Calum Chambers and Carl Jenkinson haven’t really been in the first team picture and Wenger is also prepared to let them leave this summer should he receive good offers. Aaron Ramsey could find himself on the bench as the club plans to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.

The only British players that appear to be free from Wenger’s axe are Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck. Wilshere is regarded as the club’s golden boy and is highly rated by everyone at the club while Welbeck has made a name for himself since returning from injury in February. Welbeck is now a key part of the Gunners squad and has won Wenger’s heart with his performances since returning to full fitness.
