Arsenal youngster Chuka Akpom is set to be given the chance to stake his claim in the Gunners first team next season, according to his agent, via the Express.
The striker is currently on loan at Hull City and he is expected to return to the Emirates at the end of the season.
The striker has been a regular feature for Steve Bruce Hull City this season making 36 appearances in all competitions scoring 7 goals.
And he will now be given the chance to make such impact at the Emirates after Wenger assured the player he will be part of the first team should he impress during the club’s preseason.
“Akpom is doing very well at Hull City and Arsenal have been looking at his progress with the club,” Obasi told Goal.
“I am certain that they will recall him at the end of the season, and if he is able to have another wonderful pre-season, just like he had last season, you never can know the prospects ahead of him.
“He is calm about everything and he is going about his quest to become a notable Arsenal star with utmost humility.
“He has continued to work harder to ensure that he realises his dream of playing more regularly for the club.”
Arsenal fans have called for Wenger to sign a top striker this summer, Akpom isn’t the top striker the fans are asking for but the faithful’s will take delight in seeing one of the club’s youngster in contention to lead the line next season.
