From title favourites to battling for the top four. Arsene Wenger has now revealed that he is no longer thinking about winning the Premier league title instead, he is focused on fixing his team’s mental damage to help them secure a Champions League spot next season, via team talk.
Arsenal have fallen short in the Premier League title race despite being one of the main favourites to lift the title this season but the most dangerous part is they sit fourth in the Premier League table, four points ahead of Manchester United in the fifth position.
Speaking after the game against Crystal Palace on Sunday, Wenger didn’t look like his usual positive self as he admitted that the team’s chances of winning the title is all but gone.
“Honestly, after the game today I’m not in that kind of mood to dream about the championship,” Wenger said.
“I am more in the kind of mood to repair the mental damage and prepare for the next game (on Thursday against West Brom).
“It’s much more about that and to look behind us, because everybody is playing well and winning games.
“For us, it could be a fight until the end to get the place in the top four.
“If we can do more, we will do more, but let’s not dream and focus on the next game.”
