Arsene Wenger has urged the Gunners supporters to get behind the team as we go into the final games of the season.
The supporters are not pleased with the club’s current position on the league table. In the early part of the season, there were lots of hope amongst the supporters that this would be the season when the club will finally lift the Premier League title but the team hasn’t lived up to expectations in recent months. This has caused the fans to show their discontent but Wenger insists the atmosphere in the stadium during games is affecting the players negatively.
Wenger claims the club’s home form is the cause for their failings this term and urged the supporters to get behind the team saying the club is on the right track to achieve its goals.
“Our home form has not been exceptional,” Wenger said.
“Our away form has been good. Our home form, we feel it many times, we did not score enough goals at home, especially against Crystal Palace with the amount of possession we had we did not score enough goals.
“We always look dangerous, dominating, but we are not efficient enough. Overall, as well, we gave a few leads away. That is quite disappointing.
“I focus on my job. I’m not here to judge our fans. We have to respect our fans, we have values that our fans hopefully share with us and when they are not happy, you have to accept it. We want them to be happy.
“You do not want to play in a negative environment, if we do we can still perform. We are responsible for the performance of the team and it is true at the moment it is not a highlight but we have to take a distance with that.”
