Arsenal are set to table an official bid for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, according to reports. The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Emirates since January and Wenger may finally get his man when the summer transfer window opens in July.
The midfielder is currently on loan at Inter Milan from Dinamo Zagreb and Arsene Wenger is said to be impressed with the midfielder’s performances this term.
According to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport via the Daily Express, Arsene Wenger is set to approach the Italian club with a £16m bid for the midfielder, should he continue to impress.
It is believed that Inter Milan has a clause in the player’s contract which will enable them sign the player on a permanent transfer but Arsenal believes the Italian club could be forced to sell the midfielder immediately due to their financial crisis.
When quizzed about his future after Croatia’s 2-0 win over Israel in March where Brozovic scored one of the goals, the midfielder hinted that a move away from the San Siro is possible this summer.
‘I have heard about these rumours,’ he said of links to the Gunners.
‘For now, I am an Inter player and I will behave as such.
‘Everything is possible. We’ll see. We’ll know more after the Euros. There’s nothing more to say at this time, it’s too soon.’
The midfielder has made 42 league appearances for Inter Milan since joining the club in January 2015 and has five goals to his name.
