Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be available for Arsenal this summer, via Squawka.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to sign the Gabonese international since February but some reports later claimed the Gunners have given up on signing the striker this summer as the player is unwilling to leave the Signal Iduna park. But Henry reckons the striker could be available this summer and urged the club to make a move for the striker.
“Who are you going to get that will get the goals to help you win the title? Not the goals every weekend, but a guy that can score when you need to score, the guy who needs one opportunity to score to put you 1-0 up.
“Where are you going to get a Sergio Aguero, a Lewandowski or a Suarez from? Those guys don’t come around very often.
“Aubameyang might be available [but] are you going to be able to attract him? It’s not always easy, but who is going to stay? If you know who is going to stay then you can think more about who is going to come in.”
Although the French man added it won’t be easy for Arsenal to sign marquee players this summer as the club’s rivals will also be in the market for quality players which could make it difficult for Wenger to complete the signing of players like Aubameyang.
“But the problem is Manchester City are going to be in the market next season, so will Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool,” he added.
