Arsenal have made a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to reports.
According to the Daily Star via the Metro, Arsene Wenger is prepared to offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic a two-year deal to bring him to the Emirates.
Wenger recently admitted that the lack of a striker who can score 20+ goals was part of the reason the club lost out in the title race and the French man is set to fix that deficiency by signing a world class striker this summer. Moves for Aubameyang and Higuain are proving difficult while Benzema’s future is looking complicated, this has led Wenger to turn his attentions to Ibrahimovic.
The Sweden international is out of contract this summer and is eyeing a move to the Premier League. The likes of Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with a move to sign the striker but he has reportedly revealed his interest in moving to the Emirates.
A move for Ibrahimovic is so enticing as the club won’t have to pay a transfer fee for his services but the big problem could be the player’s wages. Ibrahimovic is reportedly demanding a salary package worth £250,000 a week which would make the forward the highest paid player in the club’s history.
Ibrahimovic has scored 42 goals in 46 appearances for PSG this season and is definitely the kind of striker the club lacked this season.
