Mesut Ozil has talked up his future and said he isn’t in hurry to sign a new deal with the club.
Wenger has previously revealed he is confident that the German international will sign a new deal this summer. The midfielder who has two years left has been linked with a move away from the club with Barcelona reportedly interested in his services. Speaking in an interview with German publication Sport- Informations-Dienst, Ozil said: ‘There is no hurry.
‘I have two years left on my contract. We’ll see how it goes at the end of the season.’
The midfielder also added he could snub interested club’s and finish his career in England.
“I’m not saying I must return to the Bundesliga. I don’t rule it out. Maybe I’ll finish my career in England.” He added.
Ozil further commented on the Gunner’s season and Leceister City’s dominance and admitted the team could have won the league this season.
“If we finish third in the table and directly qualify for the Champions League, at least we will have met our minimum goal,” the midfielder said.
“But we could have won the league title this season. We dropped too many points against the smaller teams.”
“I definitely would not have believed it had someone told me before the start of the season that Leicester would win the title – nobody would have believed it.
“Hats off to Leicester. They always give 100 per cent and deserve to be top of the table.”
