Southampton boss Ronald Koeman could replace Arsene Wenger at the Emirates, according to reports.
Wenger’s future has been subjected to speculation in recent weeks as the club is set to end another season without a league title. Some section of the fans have shown their displeasure with the manager, calling for him to step down as boss.
However, the French man is determined to see out his current contract at the club which expires at the end of the season and talks regarding a new deal are yet to commence.
According to the Sun via the Daily Star, Arsenal are already drawing up a shortlist of potential candidates to replace Wenger as they weigh up allowing the French man leave at the end of his contract.
According to the report, the board believes Koeman is a realistic option to replace Wenger and they believe he has done a good job at Southampton.
Just like Wenger, Koeman also has a year left in his contract and should he snub Southampton’s contract offer, the club would try to bring him to the Emirates at the end of next season.
Atletico Madrid Diego Simeone and PSG’s Laurent Blanc are also on the club’s wishlist but both would be difficult to land compared to Koeman.
