Arsene Wenger is determined to get Arsenal fans back on his side this summer as he plans a massive spending spree ahead of next season.

Wenger has been criticized for his reluctance to spend big in the transfer market but the French man is set to make fans happy this summer if recent reports are to be believed.

According to the Sun, the Frenchman is planning to spend a whopping £80m on three players.

Wenger has always expressed his desire to spend big in the transfer market when the right players are available and has now earmarked Borussia Monchengladbach’s Granit Xhaka, Borussia Dortmund Henrikh Mhkitaryan and Juventus Alvaro Morata as his key targets this summer.

According to the report, Wenger is confident he is close to signing Granit Xhaka for a fee of £30m after months of extensive scouting. And the Frenchman will immediately turn his attentions to signing Alvaro Morata after receiving the news that Danny Welbeck will be out of action for at least nine months. Morata is expected to cost at least £30m.

Another player on Wenger’s wishlist is Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Wenger who is fearful he could lose Alexis Sanchez this summer is keen on signing the Armenia midfielder. Mkhitaryan will be entering into the last year of his contract at BVB this summer and has stalled on signing a new contract which could force the German club to sell him. Wenger is prepared to spend as much as £80m for these three players but that wouldn’t be the end of the Frenchman’s business as the report further claimed Arsenal are also keen on signing Roma centre defender Antonio Rudiger.

With a number of potential signings coming in, there is expected to be a massive clear out with the likes of Theo Walcott, Mathiey Flamini, Mikel Arteta and Thomas Rosicky set to leave the club this summer.
