Arsenal could complete the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka in the next few hours after the midfielder revealed he wants his future sorted out before the European Championships in France next month.
The midfielder has been consistently linked with a move to Arsenal in the last three months and recent reports now claim the Gunners are close to completing a move to sign the midfield star.
The Swiss international has now revealed his desire to know his next club before he joins up with his national team for the Euro 2016 competition, meaning a move to Arsenal could happen before then.
Xhaka said: “It may be that it is my last game[for Monchengladbach].
“The season’s over now and there might be discussions regarding the matter, we will make it together.
“The decision will definitely be before the Euros.
“I’m the wrong person to be asked [about a possible move], you might need to check that with [sporting director] Max Eberl.
“[If I left the club], I’ll return to Borussia-Park [one day], but as I said, nothing is clear yet.”
Xhaka has been impressive for Monchengladbach this summer and is now regarded as a top quality midfielder after series of superb performances for the Bundesliga side.
He is expected to cost the Gunners as much as £34m and should he complete the move to Arsenal, he will battle with the likes of Elneny, Coquelin and Ramsey for a spot in the starting xi.
