While the Gooners are clamouring for established world class midfielders, Wenger is looking at signing some of the best talents in the country.
The Daily Mail via Transfer Tavern claims Wenger is seriously interested in West Ham’s Reece Oxford.
Arsene Wenger observed the midfielder first hand when West Ham faced Arsenal in the opening day of last season and since then Wenger has been monitoring the midfielder closely.
The midfielder is regarded as one of the most promising midfielder in his generation and his ability to slot into centre defense is said to have impressed Wenger.
The midfielder currently has 2 years left in his deal at West Ham and is currently valued at £10m.
West Ham are determined to keep hold of the midfielder. The East London club are not prepared to entertain any offer for the midfielder but that hasn’t deterred Wenger and the French man is set to make a move for the midfielder.
Oxford joined West Ham from Tottenham in 2014 and a move back to North London could appeal to the midfielder.
Oxford has made just 12 appearances in all competitions for West Ham.
