Arsenal winger Theo Walcott is set to snub West Ham advances to stay at the Emirates next season, according to reports.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to West Ham with the East London side reportedly prepared to submit a bid of £24m and a salary package of £120,000 to secure his services.
It was reported that the player was open to a move away from the Emirates after falling out of the starting xi but according to the Daily Express, Walcott is now determined to stay at Arsenal and fight for a place in the starting xi next season.
The report added that the player told his friends he isn’t interested in the Hammer’s offer and only wants to play for Arsenal next season. Arsenal on their own part are determined to keep the winger who has spent 10 years on their books already and would definitely be boosted by the player’s desire to stay.
It is believed that Danny Welbeck’s injury strengthened Arsenal’s desire to keep Walcott beyond the current campaign and the Metro added that the England international is now set to hold showdown talks with Arsene Wenger this summer and Wenger is expected to make it clear to the winger that he is still a major part of the club’s plans for next season.
Walcott was left out of the England squad for the Euro 2016 after a frustrating campaign this season and the winger will be looking forward to next season as he tries to win back his place in the Gunner’s starting xi and the England squad.
