Arsenal are interested in signing Scottish left back Kieran Tierney as Wenger plans to bring some of the best British prospects into the club this summer.
Wenger is said to be keen on the defender who he sees as an alternative target to Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell. Tierney impressed Wenger this season after the French man took a look at the player’s dossier compiled by the Gunners chief scout Steve Rowley. And according to the Mirror, Wenger would now follow his interest up with an official £10m bid.
However, the French man won’t stop there as he is determined to sign a number of British youngsters this summer.
The report also added that Wenger is interested in signing Fulham winger Ryan Sessegnon and Bolton’s centre back Rob Holding both of whom are British players.
The club is said to have seen a £750,000 bid rejected for Holding and it is believed Arsenal are still keeping a close eye on the defender and would return with an improved bid in the summer.
Ryan Sessegnon is also another British talent high on Wenger’s wish list. The 16 year old winger is being dubbed the next Gareth Bale and Wenger seems very keen on the starlet. However, he would have to fight off Liverpool in order to sign the teenager.
Arsenal are taking their home grown status seriously this season and in addition to signing young British talents, the club will also offer Jack Wilshere a new contract at the club and also reject offers for Theo Walcott this summer.
